I recently purchased this on the swap shop. I am going to build it for my dad. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best 12 cell motor and esc to put in this? I will be using 12 4200's. Also prop size. I dont know whether to use a L size motor or XL. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Will

...then why not the SV system? cheap and reliable speed at a decent price...and should be a touch faster than an SV

that's pretty much what our club will run as LSH next year.

Ok cool. I am not familiar with the shovel nose at all. I didnt know if it would need more motor or not. How fast can these go and still be somewhat stable? Maybe the Ammo motor?

I've only run mine once, and it's an Aussie shovel, so i'm not the best guy to answer...but I've seen shovel's go waaayy fast - definitely capable of 45-50...depends on the wind and chop. they don't like much of either.

Many of the fast guys in the club use airdams made out of tape or thin plastic to upset the air over and under the hull when conditions are rough and windy.

I'll know more after next season:D

Ok thanks again I will keep this in mind. Where we run it can get pretty choppy so I will have to get used to it. Will

If its for your dad, and your looking for a cheap fast set up, whynot go the LSH set up, pick up a hot 700BB type motor and esc, get an X645, with the newer cells, I think that'd got atleast mid to high 30s and it'd run fairly well in rough water. A brushless shovel on 12 cells won't be an easy drive in choppy water. The 700 set up will run righ with the SV and be cheap and easy to set up.

A for instance on this suggestion is my old H&M viper hydro, uses a 700 with a Rumrunner/RChydros esc with a 645 about 5 years ago, on matched 3000 sanyos I GPS'd it at 37mph and it ran that speed for a good 15 laps around the small course.

              Good luck

              Trey
