Ooh is that just the hull and hardware? I think that's how hobbyking should do all their boats cos the motors and esc's aren't much cop.

What would be nice, is if, in the process of knocking off a nitro/gas hull and marketing it as an electric version, the design would not duplicate the hatch hold down recesses and exhaust pipe depressions so that the hatch could be taped down much easier. Take a good look at the rear of the hatch and imagine how taping over these irregularities to provide a waterproof seal would be, let's say, a PIA.

Try a sub-hatch. Even if the lid blows off the hull should still be sealed.

You are correct, Sir ! Even so , I'd like to see these hulls, which clearly are a knockoff of a nitro/gas hull , and being marketed for the FE demographic, have more attention paid to our needs. I don't think that's asking for too much.

Oh sure....like ripping a hull off is not enough now you want them to spend time changing it...LOL. Too much work for them!!

I always look on any boat that i thinking of getting can i water seal it 100% useing my own clear plastic sub hatch which is sealed 100% + is the top hatch sealable with mods if necessary, So as far as im concerned ive made the top of the boat 200% sealed. A lot of boats being marketed as electric are either ex nitro design boats that have a hatch that is virtually imposible to seal because of different shapes between the deck line & hatch shape. Almost sealed is not enough, You only have to have very small parts that are not sealed & water will find its way in when the boat is running not to mention when its sat upside down in the lake. Ive discounted many boats that ive liked purly on hatch sealing ability, Some are virtually imposible to seal. Take it from me when you run on salt water you take all these precautions + more. Thanks Martin.

Yeah it is. Ever try to make a mold and pull parts? FE has always been a small percentage of overall boat sales.

Ya know, IMO boaters today are always wanting the manufacturer to do for them exactly what they want. I came from a time when we had to build most of our hulls and find out what was right and wrong after. Too much whining about these silly things. Of course, why do it yourself when cheap and oppressed labor in a foreign country can do it for a few grains of rice.

Alan, while I defer to your well earned pedigree in this arena, which is decades more than mine, I'm sticking to my guns on this and side with Martin's response (although since I moved off my boat in the marina there's no more saltwater in my lines or anywhere else, not even in my virgin Margueritas)

When in Rome do what the roman's do! Nitro guys don't care how much water gets in. They use a sealed radio box. With weight being less and less of a concern these days, a good size radio box that includes the esc is not out of the relm of possibility .
