What to buy while in hong kong?!

So I just landed here in hong kong a couple days ago for a mini vacation. I tried to google some hobby shops but the search results where not all that great. Anybody know where to find some cool RC products or cheap RC products. I have a empty suitcase to fill!

    You can try Mongkok area.

Just ask any taxi driver to take you to the hobby shops streets there.

There are 2 streets that are full of hobby shops. Lots of them sell bibi guns also.

    Good luck

Hong Kong is too expensive for both those items. I sent to Vietnam last year and its a lot cheaper there! also going to Thailand in a couple days but i do not think they will have much RC stuff there.

              Hi Koontek ,

If you have time to spare , i advise you also visit Koahsiung Taiwan . Southern Taiwan is a beautiful spot in Asia especially when you travel out into the countryside & visit such places as Maolin heritage area & southern coastal beaches just hire a motor scooter they are in abundance in TW ...

              Safe travel ,

Not going to Taiwan this time. Could only get enough time off from work for hong kong and Thailand. I found the holy street of hobby shops today! Holy crap there had to be a dozen of hobby shops on 1 street. Walking around seems like tamiya products are only worth buying in hong kong. I think I am going to wait for Thailand before I buy anything . There is a better exchange rate so it might be even cheaper. If not I'm flying back to hong kong for a 3 days before going back to the states.

For example: tamiya Castrol Honda civic ff03 tower price 195.00
                Cheapest I found it : 120.00 usd

I'll take some pictures for you guys next time I go to that area

Sounds like a great find. Where is the street? I plan to go back to HK in about a month. If you had time I would recommend you take a day trip to Shenzhen China however you need to get a visa which is now around $200 or more for just a single entry.

So many of the HK businesses sell on ebay at rock bottom prices that I doubt that you will find any real bargains at the shops.

Yea i wanted to go there but the whole visa things sucks. Maybe next time I come here I'll visit there. Just went to Macau yesterday though. Vegas is still better. When you come here take the MTR and get off at the Yau Me Tei stop. From this stop you will be able to hit temple street, lady street (both really big street markets) and the hobby shops. The hobby shops are located on Yin Chong St. I'll try and post a map if you need it.

Certain things you are right about. But there is a lot of things that i have never seen before or online here in Hong Kong. I have seen a lot of mini boats that look similar to what you sell on line but the price difference would not justify the customer service and warranty you offer from your website.

So I'm really thinking about getting this:

I talk down a hobby shop to let one go with another item for about $250.00 USD (we started at $355.00 usd lol ). Anybody have experience with this kit or submarines in general?

Thanks for the info. I will make sure I go there on my next visit. I know quite well Temple street and all the night markets. I actually stay at a hotel in this area when I am HK.

The sub really looks great. Most interesting to me is that it is a copy of the latest Chinese Stealth sub. If you do some "net" research you will find out about the massive underwater cave that they hide these subs in........as well as some of their latest ultra-fast Patrol Boats. There are some real interesting stories connected with the model you just purchased! Please take some pics.

Radik is into subs and asked me about a camera/transmitter for it. You may want to check with him.

Thanks for the comment. Have fun with the sub!

Concerning your new China Stealth Sub kit...................... Here are a few pics I use as as part of a Power Point lecture I give on the subject of Chinese Maritime Technology. The real sub certainly has a unique "garage"!
