Hey guys im fixen to pull the trigger on one of Bens twin cat set ups from Fighter Cat and dont want to pound him with any more questions. This will be my first electric boat I come from a gas background but have had tons of electric land vehicals. My question to yall and only is it a question now because I used search forever and couldnt find my anser is ...... I swear I was reading a build somwhere that showed hooking up twin esc's in series do you guys know what thread im speaking of and can you tell me the ins and outs of hooking up this way or any other tips when going twin. Id really appreciate it. If you need any gas tips to get you over 72 mph id be glad to help
The esc's get hooked up in parallel, not series. This is done to give each motor the same voltage,no matter what.I dont know how to do it myself, but someone will chime in and help soon enough,Im sure.I run my twin with one battery feeding one motor/esc.Its the silver cat in my avatar. It runs great so far and Ive never had any problems with running my separate set up.
Thanks for your input, Im green to this electric stuff and if running them seperate is the way to go than it shall be just curious of all my options. I must say you electric guys seem like a tighter bunch willing to help eachother out. thats kinda the reason i got away from gas. The site i was on was bashing me for helping new guys out. i dont get it we all start somwhere and why not help the new guys from spending the money on mistakes I made the first time. Ah well such is life. thanks for the input.
No one knows what im tslking about? I know I have seen it on some of the twin builds on here just cant find them. Diagrams for parrell escs?
It may have been my build, and or Blackcats as he did his the same as mine. I think what your thinking of is we series 2-3S packs together for 6S, then parallelled it back out to the esc. This was done mainly because of room and clearance issues. Also for weight. Run times are short, but the boat stays lighter and moves nicely.
Heres a pic w/ out the batts hooked up and you can see the parallel adapters I made coming from the escs'
Tiq that was it. I just couldnt figure out how it was hooked up from the picture. So bassically both escs are tied together correct?
Yeah the esc positives are together and negatives are together. The the batteries were wired in series, one batts pos to the others neg, then the left over neg and positive to the esc connector. the deans plug in the pic is the power lead for the UBEC.

Are you going to use a single lipo to power up both esc's?if so, just use a parallel connector for the esc's.
