Feigao motor shaft? no flat spot

Just wondering if any of you guys are making a flat spot or anything on the motor shaft of the Feigaos as i just got one to try and its the first motor shaft ive ever had that didnt have a flat spot for the set screws. I would imagine its only a matter of time before i'm stuck in the middle of the lake spinning the motor.

Grind a flat spot where you need it with a dremel.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

If you dont have a Dremel you can also use a diamond file as well, Seal the motors openings as well otherwise you get metal filings in side the motor atatched to the magnets. Thanks Martin.

I vote dremel as well, be sure to lock shaft with needle nose vise grips, & yes be very careful not to get the metal dust on the bearings or inside the motor! Cut bits of t-shirt or similar cloth to protect shaft from vise grips & seal out metal dust. Dremel bit no. 9901 is good for this application.
        Hmmm...

I always put the motor in a ziplock baggie and poke the shaft through the bottom. Keeps metal dust out while you grind the flat. It doesn't need to be much of a flat - I've seen lots that have had much more removed than necessary.

Like Sundog's suggestions. I spun a coupler off of a Feigao then filed a flat.
