How much water is too much

I have a water problem and can seem to solve it, it is all during tube test. I let it sit for about a half hour and the when I com back there is a little bit of water. I've sealed it the best I could, I've even hot glue the screws on the inside.

Dont walk away from the water test.Stay there so you can see where its coming from.Instead of using hot glue, get some clear silicone from the parts store. It seals a lot better.

depends on what boat hull you have. some like the older sv 27's have a transom backplate which will leak unless its sealed from the outside.

      cheers

I second the clear silicone,,,,you dont want to glue in your bolts, if you have to remove them they could damage the hull in the prossess clear silicone wont,,plus the silicone will spread into the tinny areas like the threads and any little cracks or gaps...

I used thread sealer on the threads of the screws, can get it at the auto parts store. its used to seal chevy head bolts.

I have never had a problem using silicon, best part is being able to remove the parts when you need to.

Thanks for the tips, the hull is now dry.

road, just an fyi, depending on the hot glue placement and how hot your inside of the hull will get... you can get the glue to re-melt in your hull... in my early hobby days I thought hot glue was the way to go, just to find parts everywhere halfway into my run. Even a little heat can get that glue to soften
