    the question is simple, are the htb 290 tunnels to heavy to be competitive in p spec class ?

        Approx. weight 3lbs. My 27"Stewart Stealth weighs 6 pounds RTR and is very competitive. I would guess a 290 would be close to that.

            No doubt, most tunnels are $$$$. They are a lot of fun though.

              Quite a few really good tunnels out there now for under $200. Yep, they are fun. I run them myself.

                Not a newbie boat though, unless you have a lot of time to rescue overturned boats and they are fun.

                  A guy over here has run a HTB 290, with a REK lower unit and 'P-Spec' setup and it was quick! Much better than I thought it would be.
                  I am sure he was only running a small prop (X640 or maybe a X440) so with a correct setup it should be pretty good.

                      Sorry , i thought " htb 290 tunnels " was a tunnel hull that i haven't heard of , certainly sounds like you are refering to a tunnel hulled boat ...
