The company that makes Leopard is cracking down. In order to be a dealer, you have to agree to a Minimum Advertised Price. Some of the sites were selling below that.

UL1 motor is $59 at Tower. Ammo also makes an 1800 3656 in case the UL1 2030kv motor isn't what you're looking for. Th stock ESC will run any of the Ammo or 4-6 pole motor just fine.

The Castle motors he's talking about are in the clearance section of castle's website. I'm running 1 in my MG and just ordered another in case I make it a twin. The stock ESC wll also work with the castle motor.

The LBP 4074's on nitrorcx say 2150kv the leopard I have says 2200kv, i was told that the 2200kv's are actually 2150 kv. Is that right or they really 50kv less?

That does reflect the actual kv rating. Even if you buy a motor with 2200kv marked on the side its not a true 100% representation of what you receive with the motor you ordered. You are making some huge assumptions if you take as fact the advertised values. One of the reasons I purchased a Kv checker last year was to satisfy my curiousity of how much the numbers stated equate to the true numbers you get. Typicaly the variance is about 1 to 3 % off the stated value. But I have seen some quality made motors off by 5%! Thats a bunch if your motor has a high kv rating. A few things come into play from the manufacturer to actually get the advertised Kv value. Magnets must be of the same strength in each production batch. The Iron must be made from the same formulation and the plates stamped out in equal dimensions. Rotor construction must be defect free. Air gap must be held to consistent tolerances. Bearings must be of equal quality. Copper wire needs to be the same. Many things effect what you will end up getting.

So the short answer is yes. An advertised motor with an advertised value of 2150kv is the same as one stating 2200kv as long as the motors have the same turns and are of the same winding type.

There are two different motors. I can either order a 2150kv or 2200kv. I choose to only stock the 2200kv motor.

I think someone does have it in a MG and the the motor, esc, and batteries run very cool
