refurb nitro hydro to fe any suggestions

just bought this cmb45 carbonfibre hull rtr for a steal

any suggestions on a single motor setup that might be equivalent to the 7.5cc nitro motor in it now advertised speed 70 mph

not sure on hull dimensions yet will update when i pick up in the nxt few days

maybe a leopard or castle 1527 motor on 8s

A .45 size nitro rigger is far too small for 8S, a 4S would probably be about right for that size hull.

Pretty sweet boat there. I would suggest flexibility. These hulls have little prop slip, and todays motors do best with high RPM. Make sure you ESC you sellect can handel high voltages / cell count. The cheaper ESC's have a lower voltage range. Same for the Motor Also, make sure that the motor is rated for the same current so it will be protected.

Many guys here are running 45 sized FE riggers on 6S1P with a Neu 1521/1Y. Boats are in the 36 - 38" range. Speeds are virtually the same as the 45 guys (faster as some events). Other options could include a 1524/1Y, 1527/1.5D or 1527/1Y if the boat is a bit bigger.

A good 4S2P setup might also work well, but we don't run those here, so can't really comment.
