    caps once more

I have an ESC that I want to add more caps to but have a question. The ESC has 5 caps, 35v, 270uF (micro farads?) but the are also labeled with 2-6(7) NV, 1-5(7) OZ, 1-5(7) 9E, and 1-6(7) OE. I noticed the ETTI cap back OSE sells has 1-81L, and 9-87L. Is there such a thing as a master and slave caps as in the ETTI but what do these numbers mean or better yet, what do I need to get another 3000uF. I read low ESR which makes them ceramic but the designations are really throwing me? Thanks

This would be a bump as I posted at exactly the wrong time!

There seems to be a lot of speculation that a significant increase in additional capacitance somehow makes things better. Thats an absolute non truth. Dont want to call it a lie but it is not gospel. If it was there would be huge cap banks being sold as the "grand fix" to the multitude of problems with speedos.

People will buy sand if its cheap enough even though they are dying of thirst. And the very manufacturers themselves would be pedaling that kind of beldergarb if it was true.

To prove this just look at the additional cap banks being offered by some of the reputable ESC manufacturers. Schulze? MGM? YGE? Jetti? These guys make powerfull, reliable speedos. You see them offering 3000/6000/12000 mfd cap banks? Not one. They offer extra voltage buffering banks but based upon the engineered values off the initial design.

I am very leery when I see an ESC designed around 3 or 5 caps rated at 370 mfd each and suddenly along comes an after market recommendation to add another 5000 mfd as a fix. Just exactly what does that say when you think about it? I mean seriously consider that assumption? Wouldnt it be a factory option right off the get go? Smart enough to design an ESC but not smart enough to consider the variables? What? There are too many? Yeah right.

m41, I hear ya, buy a diesel and add Banks. I figure if they built it, it should be good to go but the caps on my ESC do not seem to be enough and I blew the caps on another one so I'm just trying to cover all the bases and play it safe, overkill is okay as long as it is not pricey!

Just order the ETTI version with 5 caps and you are set. Bottom of the page.

I got 3 1000 uF axial caps but I was wondering which side is pos and which is neg. One end has a depression and on the side of the cap is an arrow pointing to the other end. no + or - signs. Anyone know which is which? Thanks
