Danny, if you send this to me in an e-mail written properly as a proposal to present at the distict meeting in late February I will present it to everyone and personally support it. Honestly I think that you probably read way too much into the wording that Chili Mike used in the original rules he wrote since there were no issues with that wording all last season but the above text you posted is fine with me.
There ya have it. Keep up the good work fellas!!!
Thanks Don

Running nitro competitively requires a skill set that I do not have. Don F has that skill. I have watched too many boats stall because of improper setup for the weather conditions for the day. In the FE world, we don't have to be meteorologists to play.
Kudos to those that have that skill set!
Being that there is only nitro boat racing in my area, if the nitro guys said to be toss your electric in the water, if you are going to blow us away, all we ask is you detune some how. I WOULD SAY, SIGN ME UP AND WHENS THE FIRST RACE!
A club is a group of guys that has something in common. Nitro boats have nitro fuel as their common choice of power, if you are trying to assimilate to a club as a minority, you have to be willing to adapt or find somewhere else to make your own club.
YES!

I wont comment on the rules or get into the debate on here I think to much gets lost in translation on the forum.I had a long talk with Dick Loeb today and talked about allot of this. I am going to talk to some more guys tonight. There has to be a better way to talk and work this stuff out.
I personally love the sound and smell. I just find electric a simpler on water. I've had nitro trucks and loved them. If they stall, just walk over and start it back up.

CHA-CHING!!! We have a winner! Give that man a cigar!
Now let's move on to more positive stuff.

I really whish they could invent LiPos and controllers, that, when the smoked, smelled like nitro.......The sound I could do without....sounds like a million pissed off misquitoes with bullhorns.

Awww come on.... I thought it was clearly sarcastic.
Guess
I'll use the proper emoticon next time.
Truthfully, it seems some people take racing too seriously.
However, since the nitro guys still far outnumber the FE guys, we pretty much have to just do what we're told.
I would take it as a compliment if they told me my boat was too fast, and give some sort of snarky comment about modern technology.
how far? swap to a lesser motor? change from a 42mm prop to a 32mm? There is no defination for the "de tune"
Look at it from 2 sides:
Spec class - You are already told what power plant you cannot use, if you're still faster, de-tune?
Open class - Anything goes, but if you're still faster, de-tune?
Have a closer look at the starement carefully any FE boats having a noticeable speed advantage over the faster nitro boats
If they're faster, why do we need to de-tune? It's clearly a biased rule
I think I would do what it takes to race with the nitro boys.If there is no defintion for "de-tune",Id start by talking to an official and get some options layed out.If FE is just faster by nature,so be it,but who wants to go rounds with the same guy leading every lap and always finishing 1st?Of course its nice to win,but winning EVERY time would get old and I dont think many fellow racers would like you.If we try to equalize the boats as much as possible,it becomes about who is the better driver, not who has the fastest boat. And besides its for fun.If youre not happy with the rules, develop your own FE organization.
one thing we could think of is this
if we detune by using a smaller prop this could cause the boat to handle a little more smooth and it will pull less amps causing everything to run cooler.. also we will use less Mah from our packs and that makes for faster charging and the packs will last longer
