    1/8 scale esc question

I am thinking about building a modern 1/8 scale hydro

How big of an esc will be enough ??

I would like to run it on 8S1P or 8S2P (longer run times)
    Motor choices 1527 1.5Y 850KV or a Scorpion 4035 800KV or ???
Props ?? 450 to 455 area Looking for between 50 and 60 mph

All the stuff I have now run on 4S so I would like to stick with an 8S (2 4S packs) set up so I can run the lipos in other boats if I do not feel like lugging the big boat to the pond

Trying to get an idea how much $$$ the project will cost before I start

I'm still undecided on my 1/8 hydro esc, but I will use a leopard 5692 motor

Castle 240HV would be my guess unless the swordfish is more your preference. I'm using the castle HV with my leopard 5692 in my 1/8 scale. I have the 1100(?)ish KV one. Gonna run on 8S. Same reasoning. Trying to stay to 4S packs!
