    Blizzard Rigger questions

OK guys, I am wanting to get my order placed for a new cat from HobbyKing (Genesis) and Im looking for what I need on this rigger (if I need anything).

Im still green but Im learning!

Ive been told this is a Climate Blizzard. Tub is 21 3/4" long and 2 5/8" wide. I bought the boat from blackcat26 a few months back.

The motor mount is slotted out and it appears to have 1" spacing on the bolt holes. I could squeeze something 47mm OD in there, possibly up to 75mm long or so- I think.

What size servo should a boat like this get?

I run for fun and dont race. So its all about speed and having fun.

I was thinking of an outrunner, Castle 3424 1800 kV on 6S power (if the batts will fit).

Hopefully I can get some good direction on this. Whether the motor comes from OSE, HK, Castle or E Bay (yikes).

Im sure I will have more questions as time goes on. Just want to start with the motor, power and servo.

An outrunner is not the motor to use in that hull. Space is at a premium so your going to need a high kv motor as your prop is going to end up being small. Lots of info about these guys online. Here is what has worked very well for past builds. 540S can in 5200kv or 4500 kv for 2S. Or you can use a 540S in 3000kv on 3S. Depends on what speedo you want to use. I do not recommend anything lower then 80 amps but most of us have use a 120 with great success. For a prop the X632 seems to be the ticket for speeds over 60mph. These little guys are the perfect hull to develop your driving skills. Cut your teeth on one of these little rocket ships and you will be able to drive anything larger.

With the newer 28mm Leopards available you might be able to use one of them instead of a Neme/Hacker/Feigao series 540's. Those Leopards are listed as having just as much power as the 2 pole 540 cans of similar length. Space is very limited in the Blizzard.

      Thanks for the info.

I will look into the 28mm Leopards. So 2s is the way to go then... Hmmm didnt think of 2s.

I have a 120 ESC that will be available for this boat.

I really am not sure. I know cats mainly. I think that John's advice seems pretty spot on tho. A 540s can on 2s would prolly be what I would use. 120a spedo and prop small.
