    Life after RTR.s?

My addiction started with a Rio EP from there to four mini boats, one V Hull, one Cat and two Hydro's. Stepped up to a Tenshoch Mono1 and am feeling the need to move up again in quality and performance.

I believe the Miss Geico to be a good boat and I suspect the Traxxus Spartan will also prove to be good value for the money as RTR's but was thinking to bypass that stage.

Not sure what and have no real preference between mono and cat but looking for a quality rig I can stay with around 30 inches give or take a few and running mainly on 4S solid low to mid 30's mph with the emphasis on handling over sheer speed.
Some I have considered are include Kintec Pursuit with Leopard
    a Fightercat product, a Tartan29, a Delta Force etc
Looking for suggestions for hull and hardware, not exactly money no object but a step above the RTR stuff and a quality set up that will last

    Thanks in advance

Aeromarine mean machine 29", handles amazing, with a 8xl or 9xl is a great 4s boat that's good for mid to high 40's and turns on a dime, also very stable so you won't be constantly dealing with a overturned boat....

I love my mean machine it does handle well at speed, and neither of Fightercats hulls are known for the way they handle (not knocking them its just what you get with a scale model of a current offshore boat) but if all you are after in terms of speed is low to mid 30s then I think any circa 30" mono or cat hull including the Fightercat ones will turn hard and handle well at that speed.

I have 2 Aeromarine Laminates hulls and have been disappointed by the quality of both of them they are fantastic designs but the molding really lets them down, thats not to say they are weak and wont last because they thick and strong enough but there use of chopped strand mat and shoebox seams is ugly compared to glass cloth seamless wet on wet joining in the mold as with most modern boats, and the seemingly random varying thickness of the hull and makes it heavier than it needs to be for the same strength.

I would get a Hydro&marine IntruderS just because its so beautiful, or if I couldn't afford it one of Fightercat's hulls probably the Daytona because although its a good bit bbgger than you want its not much heavier and is much better looking than the River.

I love your goals, the problem is type of hull....cat...mono. What are your normal water conditions? to be honest I love cats, they are great boats, if designed and well built.

Use a small lake near me and except with the rare N wind there usually is fairly smooth water in one part or other but if I want a challenge with some ripples I can just use a different part of the lake ( Truthfully more like a large pond at around 3-4 acres ,) got to admit looks wise I favor cats except for the long narrow ones any suggestions? Looking for reliable, quality construction, top speed not important but handling is especially in turns.

If handling in the turns is the main focus, I would think a mono would be hard to beat. I love the way monos carve out turns! ...It could quite possibly be that I dont know how to properly build catamarans though...

It took me awhile ti find the Hydro & Marine Intruder S, you are right a beautiful looking boat. Was unable to find an importer/dealer in US so assuming it would have to come from Germany if I wanted one? Does it run as good as it looks?

                Peter

Found some video on the Intruder S not that impressive but no details on the set up. From this video hard to justify the extra cost over a Miss Geico.

You can get it direct from Germany they have English speakers if you phone or email them, Fine design are the USofA dealer for H&M and might be worth it if you are local but from what I hear you would get it faster, cheaper and be sure you actually get it ordering direct from H&M Germany.

It does run very well although its not a dedicated oval boat, the one that I have run against was on 6s and a LOT faster than my 4s Mean Machine in a straight line but not massively quicker overall as I was cornering faster than him, not that it precludes it from your choice as although it didn't turn as fast as the MM it was still turning faster than the speeds you are after. From a performance standpoint you couldn't justify the H&M over any other hull as like I said previously I think ALL 30" hulls will do what you want them to do and corner at full speed in the low/mid 30s, its hard to beat the quality of H&M though and if you want a good looking High quality hull it would be easy to justify it over the Miss Geico, any other RTR or even a lot of other hull manufacturers.

For electronics I would shun my usual high RPM setups and suggest a blackjack26 1500kv system on 4s which would let you swing a reasonably large prop for decent acceleration at low speed and without using a lot of amps.
