i would not recommend it with that big of a boat and how heavy its going to be..6s on these motors is the upper range especially with the bigger props needed to push that hull...in the end a 240 amp esc is the wise thing to do...no one ever said biulding and powering a big boat with twins is going to be cheap!!! do not cut the corners on the esc...just my opinion

I have seen a 50 inch cat build with the same motors running T180's so the 200 might work.

I like the vac-u-pickle mounts. I use one in my skunkworks cat. Works awesome! http://www.vac-u-boat.com/BrushlessMotorMount.htm

The .187 3/16 cables would be a lot better then the .150 you listed before. I would use these, that motor is gonna put out some serious torque!

The 180 & 200 may work in the long run, I don't like pushing the esc's to their max voltage though. That's just me. I would use the 240HV's...

Thanks guys much appreciated. I just dont think I can afford the extra cash for the 240 amp esc's at the moment. Do I have to plug one motor in differently to the other to get it to spin the opposite way ?

Plug it up the same way, check the direction if it's not the direction you want switch around any 2 wire connections on the motor/esc.

I would run Seaking/Turnigy 180s with 1717's way before running the 1717's with the hifei 200.. the turnigy 180's have a burst rating of 360 amps whereas the swordfish 200's have only a 230 burst I believe.... I would run a 1717 with the t180 in a second... just me... especially in a twin motor application... less amp draw....

Thanks JMSCARD should I run an external B.E.C also ? Could I get away with using EC5 connectors on the battery side ?

YES definately run a external BEC or Rxr battery pack ..

also I myself would run bullet connectors.... 5.5mm or 6mm on batts, and 8mm on the motor side... this project should have them....

Wow, I did not think one would push this big hull that fast, cuz that's faster than stock
I am using 2 of my 3 1717 motors for other builds, maybe 2 of my 1520s on 6s in my Rio 51z would be sweet

40mph might be a little embelished but would be real close...
