    Looks great Mark!

    A little on the tight side of the cable is OK, it's pretty easy to file down a fat cable. A half thou over on the diameter should also work just fine unless a particular shaft is close to the lower tolerance. What alloy brass are you using?

      It's just 360 brass.
      I think it would be too difficult to use steel or a harder alloy of brass - it took substantial force to push the broaches.
      360 is easy to cut, but it may wear out too fast?

        Mark,

        360 brass will hold up pretty good, an alternative to using 303 Stainless would be to use a 6061 or 7075 and hard anodize it. For the brass I would be more woried about the set-screws stripping than the square wearing out.
