HELP - make my boat faster

    All

I got this boat for Christmas from the wife a couple of years ago. I used it once and it was painfully slow so it sat on a shelf. NOW, we live on a lake and I want to make this thing run faster.

Here is what I have http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys...3/product.html

It is 23" long 6" wide and won't even get on plane. I figure that if I put a bigger motor and better prop that this would at least get on plane. Can I replace just the motor and the battery or do I need to replace all of the electronics?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

        Listen to the scotsman...

In order to get that boat flying youll need a new motor... new electronics.... and a prop. And I bet that hull isn't a good high speed hull....

Pick up something new my friend, to get that thing going quick isn't worth it

and a new hull while in the buying mood.................

Seriously, its a bare minimum toy. Get a entry level "RC grade" boat with proportional electronics.

          Something along these lines:

Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.

I would save it, make a great recovery boat if you where to get a hobby grade boat. Traxxas blast is a great starter, comes with everything you need, battery and wall charger, just need battereis for the radio.

BUY A NEW BOAT! Don't bother with that one. It will just cost you too much and frustrate the hell outta ya! Get a Proboat Geico or Aquacraft UL-1 for example.

If you buy another plastic boat with a brushed motor, like the Rio recommended above, you will regret it. You will just want to go faster again!

Get something good right outta the box. It will be the cheapest and most satisfying thing you ever did.

For anything from Tower Hobbies, join their club for $10 a year. They will email you discount codes once a month. If you spend $300+, you get $60 off and Free shipping. A UL-1 cost $260 delivered to your door! Can't beat it.

I would snap up just about every good boat in the US at your prices you have their, In the UK the UL1 is £400 or over $600. They dont call us ripoff Britain for nothing. Martin.
