Need help finding a BL motor...

I need a brushless motor with aprox 32 mm distance between the mounting holes and a 5mm shaft.

Looking for about 20,000 to 22,000 RPMs.

Just toying with some ideas on another build. I don't want to disclose it just yet, I want to make sure I can find the proper motor first.

The 5mm shaft and 32mm (or close) mounting hole spacing are the most important. I can work around the RPM requirement.

Thats cool.Cant wait to see what your gonna build.I really enjoy all your other builds. You do good work and your builds are unique. As far as the motor goes,Ive never heard of a 32mm mounting hole spacing, but, that doesnt mean its not out there.Good luck and Ill keep my eye out for you.

Actually looking at what I have here I think I can use a motor with 25 mm spacing on the mounting bolts.

That opens up a few more options.

I think the Leopard 4074 will do the trick. 25mm mounting hole spacing and 5mm shaft. The 1050 Kv on 6s should give me the target RPMs.

            Sound about right?

Yeah Chris that will be 23k at 6s voltage. And 25mm seems to pretty much be the standard for most motors til you get into hefty ones.

I'm revisiting the twin Graupner z-drive thing with more appropriate size motors and on a more appropriate size hull.

They didn't work on the 54" Fountain hull and 5692 Leopards but they should work in this scenario.

Yeah this is going on my old Aeromarine 50" Apache hull which used to be powered with a Zenoah gas engine. I'm not looking for all out speed on this one. I just like the novelty of the scale outdrives.

I think the drives are a much better fit on this hull, its considerably smaller and so much less weight. If it gets 30 MPH I'll be happy.

What was wrong with twin Z-drives with 5692s on your 54" fountain?

Way to much power, stripped the gears on one drive pretty quick. The hull was to heavy and I couldn't fit big enough props on the drives to push it.

After seeing the speed the boat achieved with the MHZ surface drives I know the z-drives would never have been able to handle the power. Those twin 5692 Leopards put out an amazing amount of power. Way more power than if the boat had twin Zenoah gas engines.
