    Yikes !! Joe, it never occurred to me to re-set the strut angle to get the nose up. Can the strut be tilted to raise the rear, prop-nut end higher ? Def worth a try - I'd really like to see this boat get going !!

        If you wont to get the front end higher out the water raise the prop nut end of the strut/shaft, If you wont the front of the boat lower angle the prop nut end of the strut/shaft down. When you do either of these change of angles it has the opposite effect on a mono v hull when going into a corner though. ie lowering prop nut end will bring the bows higher out the water in a straight line but when going into a turn with the boat leaning it has the opposite effect bringing the front down lower in the turn making hooking the front more possible, Like i said this is on a mono v hull & not the same on a rigger or cat hull that stays flatter in the turns.               I think that strut needs to be almost sponson level. Does not seem if you did it up and out then the prop would be getting air.

              Joe, I looked at titanium wire one time. Just came back to carbon wire because of sticking well and very strong.

                Jeff's right, it's customary to start with the strut sitting level with the sponsons. When up to speed, the sponsons will be on top of the water (and your prop nearly out of water).

                But with it literally being a shaft drive, once you lower the strut to that point, it will be at such an angle the nose will want to dive. Time to try something flexible. If you don't want to move the motor aft, you should probably consider a flex drive because of the span. You may need a taller strut and rudder as well. It's a nice hull - definitely worth pursuing.

                  Thanks for the info and that's what I will do. The german hull is an H and M and really nice. I will pull our the straight drive and go with a more conventional flex shaft and larger rudder. I just had the small unit available so thought I would give it a try. May work on some 14" boats but too small for the cannard. Also the largest prop that can be run is 29 to 30 mm. I used a 30 and it polished the tip a bit!

                    I got to thinking that I might have just what you need. I bought this strudder combo a while back for another (smaller) boat, but when I got it in my hands I realized it was too large. It looks to be suitable for your setup. I'd sell it for $50 shipped if you're interested.
