hi peoples merryxmas eve to all families,

i just got a 2215 2y 750kv used...what is the cogging like on this motor suppossed to be? i can turn the shaft easily and the cogging feels light..is this normal for the 2215 series?

My 2215 had very defined cogging and was resistant to turning by hand, but it was a 1400 kv.

I used to think that the greater the cogging the more powerfull the motor or torque. But I got a 1527/1Y used and compared to my 1527/1D. The 1D was almost hard to turn. The 1Y turned easily. After using my Kv checker the motor was right on. If the magnets had been demagnitized the kv would have been off. I think doing the hand spin does not dictate the quality of the motor. I think its something we assumed, I know I did, as to whether a motor has been damaged. Just my 2 cents.

My 2215 1.5Y has a medium amount of cogging. I can't speak about the 22xx, but at some point Neu started using skewed stators which reduce the pole alignment and hence the cogging torque reduces. If questionable just send down to Neu for a check up.
