I would recommend an offset rudder to increase turning capability. The factory hulls that come equipped with hardware must be built this way for a reason. BG -
Sweet! Why not go for the castle 1717 on 4 or 5s with a turnigy 180? Take advantage of the castle sale before it's gone and get a reliable setup that wont push the limits of the electronics for a reasonable price. Even on 4s, with the right prop that hull will easily push 45mph and not break a sweat! But my opinion is biased because I'm starting a similar build with a similar hull!Attached FilesComment

I have to agree with Rumdog. For about the same cost you will get more out of the leopard and seaking than you would the UL-1 setup. JMO? WHAT RULES?

A great combo is a Leopard 40 x82 1500kv on 6s with a 180 amp esc.My 37" Drifter went 62mph with this combo using an x445 before the seam split from a blow over.Absolutely zero heat issues.I was on my way to propping up to a 447 and 450,but hull broke.Comment

For a 4s setup you could go with a Leopard 4074 2200kv motor and a Turnigy/Seaking 180a esc. That should be around your budget.? WHAT RULES?

I run a leopard 4074 1774kv with a seaking 120 on 4s in my 29" skunk cat and I love it... Video is in my signature. A CC1518 1800kv with a seaking 180 on 4s would also be a good setup. Did you do a forum search of the MM and see what the commong gear is?Comment
