Not sure if you guys want to read new member intros, but figured I'd type one anyway. My name is Danny and I'm from Texas. Yep, a Cowboys fan.
My uncle and my best friend started building and racing fast electric boats over the summer and I just watched what they were doing. As soon as I got a boat, they scattered like roaches when the lights come on! Yes I am calling them out! They pointed me to this site and I've picked up quite a few tips already, like the vacuum cap stuffing tube seal, how to rebuild the stuffing tube itself, etc. I wouldn't say I've got a handle on it yet but I am having a lot of fun with it.
My boat is a Rico20 31" monohull. It runs a Neu 1515 1Y motor, SeaKing 180amp ESC, and 20C 6S2P Venom 6400mAh lipos. I bought it through this site's Swap Shop from user Spot Me 2.
This is when I first got it running. At the time it still had the Prather 215 prop.
Mike (aka Spot Me 2) suggested moving the batteries forward after seeing that video. I did that and traded for a Prather 235 and the boat has really picked up quite a bit. The handling is infinitely better, I can now make tight turns at full throttle. In fact, it will roll inverted if I'm not careful.
Anyway, this site has already been a great resource for me and I appreciate the advice I've already been given. Later-
Danny
