    New guy here.

Not sure if you guys want to read new member intros, but figured I'd type one anyway. My name is Danny and I'm from Texas. Yep, a Cowboys fan.

My uncle and my best friend started building and racing fast electric boats over the summer and I just watched what they were doing. As soon as I got a boat, they scattered like roaches when the lights come on! Yes I am calling them out! They pointed me to this site and I've picked up quite a few tips already, like the vacuum cap stuffing tube seal, how to rebuild the stuffing tube itself, etc. I wouldn't say I've got a handle on it yet but I am having a lot of fun with it.

My boat is a Rico20 31" monohull. It runs a Neu 1515 1Y motor, SeaKing 180amp ESC, and 20C 6S2P Venom 6400mAh lipos. I bought it through this site's Swap Shop from user Spot Me 2.

This is when I first got it running. At the time it still had the Prather 215 prop.

Mike (aka Spot Me 2) suggested moving the batteries forward after seeing that video. I did that and traded for a Prather 235 and the boat has really picked up quite a bit. The handling is infinitely better, I can now make tight turns at full throttle. In fact, it will roll inverted if I'm not careful.

Anyway, this site has already been a great resource for me and I appreciate the advice I've already been given. Later-
    Danny

Welcome and nice boat , great color on the water.

Watch out for Douggie...he's a grumpy old Canadian fart from out west with a really dry sense of humor....I on the other hand am a middle aged Canadian fart from the center of all things good in Canada with a much better sense of humor...at least I think so.

As for Smock...well..thats a whole other story, he's "special"

              I don't know. I think I mentioned I'm new at this.

Educate me. It seems to have no problem at all running on 6s. Is it too many RPM based on the voltage and kv rating of the motor? I've heard that there can be issues with propeller cavitation at too-high speeds.

I'm sure I can come up with some more dumb questions and techniques. I'll try to keep it to a minimum. Thanks guys-

So what is the story on Rico hulls? I see they are respected here. Is the builder of these hulls a member?

Man I'd love to run this boat on Travis and/or the Perdenales. I make it down there every April for the Lonestar Roundup, maybe I'll look you guys up in a few months.

Fort Worth, that explains a lot, been there and left the next day

That hull is a bit of a classic...6S is a lot of power, but she looks great on it
