Higher pitch v lower pitch prop

Have a mini mono thats very quick useing a X435 but do get serious torque roll on excelleration & flat out if waters not perfectly flat, Ive used x432 & x430 which reduce problem but also reduces speeds. The problem isnt with boat set up but just pushing speeds. Would going to more pitch but less diameter help or make things worse, Say going for an x630 or y532 rather than the x435 that im useing. Martin.

Yes it can help, as well I have found making sure the leading edge of prop were it leaves the hub and around the start of the tongue area needs to be very sharp, if this is not up to scratch it can cause the problems you have described.

I am no prop expert, but on my king of shaves, I went from a 437/3 which had some torque roll to it, to a y536 which is supposed to have more pitch. The torque roll went away, but I lost some speed. I also went up in amps for some reason.

Are you getting this problem in a straight line?

Yea sure, I am all for staying on topic. I thought the topics were very relevant to each other(sharing the same theme, high pitch vs low pitch), and this thread had the attention of people that might be interested in it. I'll start a new thread.
