    Boat Transformation

So I have been running my OM29 all summer with a 11XL/4S2P 4000mah (8000mah total)/ and either a X445 or a X447 and I just could not dial her in, she was going pretty quick but she was all over the road, very loose to the point that in a straight line she would some times wipe out (not a blow over) So I finally broke down and ordered some trim tabs to see it that would help. I installed them at lunch today set them neutral with the running surface and gave her a go at lunch, it is blowing like stink from the east today but I run in a little cove that is well protected and the water was smooth as silk except for the ripple from the rain drops. So I drop her in and punch her and she is a totally diffrent boat....I mean except for a little chine walk she was totally smooth and riding almost perfectly, nicely aired out and seemed faster then it has in the past.....I really can't tell you how transformed the boat is.

On the subject of Chine walk I have a question or two, so the OM29 is not exibiting what I would call bad chine walk just a wee bit and I can stop it with a tiny application of rudder so I think I am pretty close. I have my strut right where Randy says it should be depth wise but I am wondering what effect props have on chine walk. Today I was running my X447 which has not been detounged....just thinking about this it would seem that the extra surface area of the tounged might have an effect on rolling the boat and inducing the chine walk. I do have a X445 that I have detounged but I did not get a chance to try it, with my trim tabs I also ordered a M645 to see how that goes.

One last question, I have no ways of recording the speed of my boat....would anyone care to take a total guesstamate of roughly how fast I am running? you think I am at 40mph?

    Cheers,
    Jim

P.S. Steve, thanks as always for the quick shipping. Ordered all this stuff late monday and had it today.

    No problem on the shipping.

If things are going good your in the high 30 to low 40 area.
