    Traxxas Velineon Brushless System

would anyone recommend this Traxxas Velineon Brushless System for a 30" cat??? i was thinkin about getting two, on 11.1 v lipos this can make a car fo 75+ but idk what it would do on water. i want some advise that would get a boat to some intense speeds. I was also thinking about those Neu motors, they are pretty sweet.

how about a single motor and two 3s in series in your 30 " cat , you dont have much choice of props for counter rotating and heat will be an issue

I have looked into it. I ran across it in an issue of RCBM. It is to hot of a setup for a 30 inch boat.

You will need to pick or buy a hull and choose that batteries you can afford. Then we will be able to point you in the direction of a motor. :)

How fast do you want to go. Do you want to use it for something like SAW or oval racing?

I would go with the Neu motor then over the Traxxas system. Will this be your first boat you have built?

I would probably consider a NEU or something along those lines to get up to and over the 60 mph mark.

However we did run a Rustler with the brushless system today on an Orion Carbon 3200 lipo and it was pretty damn impressive and was really really quick!

Pick up the most recent issue of RC boat modeler --- There's an article in it about Lipo's and the speed gain! The author used a 29" Mean machine & had speeds over 50 .... very lose - but I only mention it as a starting point for your research!

At speed the MM is a great looking cat!

the best part of that is we do not have to wait for a new magazine to come out every 3 months as he is here daily and is very a helpful person.
