    MINICATRACING MICRO HYDRO :help:

OK!I was runnin it and the ass end started jerking side to side, then it started cutting in and out.It seemed like the RX was glitching to me so I replaced it.

NOW!Went back out.She ran good for a min then same thing and died.No problem..Grabbed my trusty Zig Zag sent her out.The ZZ ran up on the MH and the prop raised out of the water....NO PROBLEM!Went and grabbed my rod and reel with a topwater lure. After bout 5 of my longest casts i realized......PROBLEM!

Well...The water was COLD!Even in ALABAMA!

So..Im thinkin maby the ESC is fried?

Check the connections to motor and battery, may need to add some solder!

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere for sure.

Also, if you are using the BEC to power the receiver, try a separate power pack. The BEC may be faulty.
If you are using a separate power supply already, check the connections/battery voltage on that.
          All the best.

See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Boats don't win races, drivers do.

Well...It acted up right at first then smoothed out and ran fine.Ran 2 packs through her!
I looked at the conections and they all look solid.
I can't fix it if it ain't broke!!

sounds like it may be a radio issue rather than the boat.

You never clarified what type of radio you are using, AM, FM or 2.4. If 2.4 then start with the BEC regulator in the ESC. To verify, do run a seperate battery and see if the problem persists. If stops it's the ESC's BEC. If it still persists your radio may be bad. Try another RX if you have one or, try another radio all together or best of all another ESC. From all this you should be able to determine what the cause is if all connections are solid.

And? Still happening, not happening? If still happening run an external battery on the ESC. If still same issue, replace the ESC. If it comes down to that pm me and I'll help you with the esc.

Add a short servo extension to the throttle lead to the esc. Cut the red wire on the extension. Plug the extension into the throttle channel on the receiver. Plug in a separate 4.8V battery pack to the esc. Try that. If that works ok, then the BEC in the esc is flakey.

Yes, run a separate battery on the RX. I'm leaning more toward that you have a bad ESC. To verify, carefully remove the red wire connector from the ECS plug.

Take an external battery pack usually about up to 5-6V and plug that into the RX on the battery port. If you don't have one any port should suffice. Run the ESC again. If issue is resolved it's the BEC in the ESC. If issue persists, you have a bad connection then somewhere within the ESC likely or somewhere else. Do the wiggle test. Connect everything and wiggle all connections to see when it arms. That is another way to troubleshoot where the issue may be.
