    Assembling MHZ Scale Drive

I got my Mystic hull and hardware in, and I'm wondering about the drive assembly.

These are the ones I have: http://www.mhzusa.com/Scale-Drive-fo...?categoryId=-1

It says that it accepts a 2mm wire drive. I've never done anything with wire drive, so I'm wondering how this works

For the motor, you will need a collet sized to fit your motor shaft with a 2mm end for the wire. The wire is simply glued in with loctite 648 as stated in the description.

Is that it? I wanna make sure I don't miss anything.

Would you have a link to where I can buy the 2mm wire?

      Thanks :)

Oh wait, I think I found what I need...

Will that be long enough though? I need it for my Mystic C5000 M.

.078 is 2mm in inches. I think you need a really stright stuffing tube to run a wire drive.

Are you going to be running wire drives in your HPR 115?

I saw the link, and all of the wire drives are with 3/16 shafts. Is there anywhere I can get just the wire?

No, the hpr drives are set up for a .187 flex shaft. I like the flex for there strength, but the wire is easier to take care of.

Ah, you're lucky. This wire drive stuff is confusing me. I took a look at the site you sent me and I read the info about wire drives. They seem a lot more complicated than flex shafts. We'll see. Hopefully all goes well :)

Good luck. The wire drive was one of the things that concerned me about the MHZ mystic. You'll get it figured out, we got all winter to get them running.

I didn't even know about it until now. That's true, it'll be an interesting winter :)
