    Cat choices

    OK, folks;
    I need as much input here as I can get.

    I am looking at one of Bens Cats and if any one has actually raced one of the types of Cats that he is doing up, HOW ARE THEY in competition?

    Carl

    I know how the Areomarines are as I have ran them in the past.

    I dont think the Genesis would be any good for racing.Its really narrow.I think its 9 3/4" wide.Way narrow.As far as the 32" cats,prob not the best either.They are the same as the Apparation and EKOS hulls minus a few cosmetic details.

          Carl. I've been on this board for three years now and the .40/.80 Sprint Cat time and time again comes up as one of the top handling cats. Thats probably the route I'm going (with a custom hatch). Plus I got the $100 raffle gift certificate from Aeromarine at the Hagerstown race

          Is anyone familiar with the AC Nitro cat? 36" x 14"? Thats something that caught my eye but I'm too much of a whimp to try one without any input. I know the gas guys love the AC boats. Made in Canada I believe. http://www3.telus.net/acboats/catama...itro%20Cat.jpg

            Carl, for racing go Sprintcat .40

            Hands down. It's a proven setup with several power options.

            The Daytona/Genesis is not a race hull.

                Mike;
                The AC cats I have seen in the PAST weren't up to the Aeromarine standards as far as handling is concerned. Might have been the builders tho.
                I do know how the Sprint cats work and if I did one, it would be set up twin style with Struts as in nitro setup instead of the sponson set up.

                now, if I can just get the Mrs. to let me have a boat for Christmas,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

                    I've seen an AC R42 gas boat but its the only gas cat in the club so I have nothing to compare it to performance wise, but the build quality is excellent though, better than a lot of European hulls. I have a mean machine and sprintcat 40 and love them but while they oval better than most European cats that tend to be scale offshore and not really suitable, the build quality of both is absolutely shocking compared to every European boat that I have seen in the last decade.

                      The one man show in B.C. Canada builds some great boats and is a really straight arrow and he will modify your boat to your desires or tell you are nuts.
