Since the new JC's are out there I am putting the challenge out. Who has the best setup Jolly Cat twins VS single. All of us ToySport guys can use this little competition to dial both hulls in. It will benefit us all in the end. Since we are spread to the four corners of the country & world I propose we set some guide lines and work on the honor system. Lets not make it all about speed. Everything should be considered. Cost, handling, speed and appearance. I would suggest running a set distance on a course for a set amount of time and seeing how many laps we can get in. Each boat will have to run a gps on board and be recorded from launch to recovery and hatch removal. Suggestions on distance and course size are welcome.

i saw this on a euro web site. using battery connectors to hold down hatches.Attached FilesComment

The hatch on my Jolly is secured with 4 countersunk screws into the thick pieces of fibreglass across each corner.
This was already set up on the boat from new, maybe this feature has been deleted on later versions.
I still seal the hatch with tape to make it watertight.

nice machine you got there. did you connect the two escs to each other? because if you did can you please show me how you did that. i would really appreciate it because i want to do that with my cat
sorry, im kind of new to this sort of stuffComment

You use a Y harness to connect two ESCs to the same receiver, like this.
Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.
The single motor version of the JC does not have the the plates for the counter sunk screws in them. That is a very good idea though.Comment

Yep, correct answer, just use a Y harness so that both ESCs are activated together by the receiver.
My Jolly was actually bought from Fastelectrics in Australia as just a bare hull and hatch, ie no struts or mounts, but as mentioned it had the 4 screws in the corners.
Mine is just a fun project and an excuse to set up a boat with twin motors and drives.
I don't expect it to be any faster than a well set up single but it sure sure looks and sounds cool.
