Fast "P" motor esc combo for a tunnel?

I'm looking for a fast "P" motor/esc combo for a tunnel. It will be going in a Leecraft XTR 21 hull 28-29in long. I'm running the UL-1 esc and motor in a different hull. Just looking for something faster to play with. That will run on 4s lipos. Any suggestions would be great I don't know much about brushless motors so any advise would be helpful.

On the face of it, a Neu 1515/1Y or a Feigao 8XL may be good choices. They will spin a larger prop faster than the UL-1 motor will. But I have not run these motors in anything but a hydro, so I'd wait on advice frrom OPC guys.

Looking for a P motor. I've got my P-Spec Tunnel tunnel running 50-51mph. Ive got an extra hull I want to put it toghter as a P tunnel andplay with it maybe run it in Open Tunnel class.

          As Jay said, a 1515 1y is a great 'P' motor!

I bought a 1515 1y a little over a year ago. Just never used it. It looked to big to mount on the back of a 28in boat, as an outboard. Guess I'l giv it a try. When looking for a better/fast brushless motor what are you looking for Kv, physica size of the motor?

Kris, Can the OS lower take the power of the 1515 1Y?

Are you running that set up Tony or do you have something up your sleeve?

Mike, I'm right now building a new tunnel with a O.S. lower that I got from Mike L.
( Cybercrxt). It has the "Kris Flynn cable mod". It's currently being set up for
P-Spec-OPC BUT I do have plans to run a bigger motor like a custom 7XL I have or maybe a 1515 1Y (once I send it in to Nue for a tune-up ) in the future for an event next year

I talked to Mike L about puting a 1515 1Y on a OS a few months. He wasnt sure if it would hold up. He didnt say it wouldnt. He just hasnt tried it. I may slap that 1Y in my Woodstuff 30 next fall if it survives the heat racing season.

BTW- Sent my 1Y to Neu last month for a check up. Turn around was about three weeks and cost a little over $40 with new bearings.

Keep an extra cable and teflon tube in the toolbox. 50/50 ATF and STP for lube. Lube every run.

You may find the handling leaves a bit to be desired as the 1515/1Y will spin a much larger prop than the 21 size tunnels like to run.

I find that the 21 size tunnels handle best with 42mm or smaller prop.

Just my experience with TS2's, VS-1's and TS3's. I've been told that the handling goes away on the lynx with bigger props as well.

                          Even with an X637, 4S1P on the 1515 1y with a barra 125 I was getting 55mph 2 years ago

The OS will hold up for sure, but like Brian said, bigger props can cause proplems.

All I use for lube is outboard gear oil.

I also never run the stock cable.

wonder how my 1.5D will go on it? hmmmm

1.5d runs great on a 38mm prop. Hard on batteries and cables.
