    ESC malfunction?

Ironic as I have another thread going on what ESCs to use for my 54" Fountain build.

But this is pertaining to my twin outboard Scarab. Today when running the boat it was running like only one motor was running. Long story short I switched all the batteries and ESCs back and forth from motor to motor and discovered that one ESC is not letting the motor to rev up under load.

On the stand the motor winds up. As soon as you put it in the water there is no power. And its not the motor or the battery. I have switched the ESC from one motor to the other and no matter what motor or battery this one ESC is connected to there is no power.

Its a Turnigy 120 and it did get pretty wet once but it ran fine 3-4 times after that occurrence.

I guess I have my answer but has anyone else experienced this?

OK thanks to a PM from a member here I have figured out the problem. The ESCs LVC was all out of wack. Why it got like that is beyond me but reprogramming it solved the problem.
        Go figure......

OK so hear is what keeps happening. The ESC is going into LVC almost right away. The boat doesn't even make it 30 feet and that one ESC slows the motor down.

I reprogrammed the LVC again and it works but for how long?

What would make the ESC keep going into LVC even when everything is cold?

Damaged connector on the ESC side?

Well i put some run time on it today and it went into LVC again. I programmed the ESC for "no protection" LVC and it kept working fine.

The only reason I did this is because this a twin motor setup and the other ESC will cut off letting me know the voltage was low preventing me from damaging the batteries.

Strange but what can I do? Stuff happens.

A lot of people seem to be having that problem with the Turnigy 120's & 180's . Three people in our club in the recent past. All you can do is what you've done. Disable the LVC.
                  All the best.
