What's the fastest thing you could do with a 1717?

It looks like a JAE FE21 is too small. People are saying that the Neu/Castle 15 series motors can roll the frame at the flick of a finger. That eliminates the Blazer/whip sport 20 as well. The Whiplash 40 is the way to go then? I don't see a tub size in the manual or by searching. 4 inch I assume? I guess I will look into that and see if I can get Punisher67 to work with me for a mount.

Whiplash Sp40 is definitely the pick of the boats you've mentioned. Most other are too small for the 1717.

If you could build a JAE 45, or get someone to build you one, you'd be on a winner. Whiplash looks better though

I overlooked the JAE 45 - thanks. I'm close to deciding between those two. I wonder which one would be more stable at high speeds. I'm guessing the rigger would have less tendency to blow over. Is that true - or with the 1717 level of power is that not really a factor?

I think a jae 45 would be hot. Hsponsons or standard?Im very curious about this 1717. Castle rates these things to be able to pull some amps.I love hydros but the rigger will fly .IT is wide at the sponsons with very little in the water. I have a worthy mongoose and i am truly impressed by the jae's ease of construction,and the level of performance.
