genesis leporad combo

Thinking of putting a leporad 2474 2200kv in my genesis cat has anyone run this combo with a hydra 120 on 4s. How were the temps what prop ect.

4s w/120a ESC will max out and eventually melt at a constant 1700 watts.

Probably best to use the Hydra 240 ESC or the T180 or SF200 & w/m447 prop on 4s2p

It's a pretty solid 3000 watt setup.

Yup I would I agree. I run mine with a m445 4s2p on a T180. 120 is just cutting it too close.

Yeah, actually the m445 would be a bit easier on the electronics and a better place to start.

Im also thinking about changing the engine in my boat but im unsure what to get, because im putting in another Hobbyking order I was looking at their KB 45 's but wasnt sure what one to get!
Ive got just a 38mm brass prop and standard engine, but the T180 esc, with ex bec and 2 x 40C 4000 MAH 4S Batteries
I ran it for almost 10 minutes today (before the lake got choppy), ESC was cold, batteries cold, motor was warm, but not hot

I have a KB45 1600kv motor with cooling jacket and a motor coupler ran once Ill sell for $55 shipped.Motor runs great.I can ship it Monday.
This motor will push the Genesis very well.I ran it with an Octura X445 and went 59mph.

I don't know how fast stock is but that set up should get in the 50's I hope

Much. The stocker on 3S if I remember correctly was low 30s. 4S on a switched out esc was in the 38mph range. 4074 may run better on a smaller prop. The Gen doesnt like a large diameter prop as it starts to get hard to controll. Also, mine slowed a bit from a 440 to a 442. A guy at the local club is running a 442 on his, 4074 2200, 4s, and runs mid/ high 40s., I run the 4074 1400 on 6S w/ the 440 and another guy runs the castle 1520 1600kv using a 640. Mine does 51, 1400kv and the Castle pushes it a couple mph faster w/ 1600kv

Yes we could all probably push them a bit more, but its nice when things come in under 110 and it pulls (6S 1400) 108A max.
