Thanks, it took me some time to make the model and make this shape and place it forward where the motor is, but I think it came out quite nice. The mean machine is an "all time classic" boat, I would never change it.

The “sale” of the mean machines seems to have been a fantastic one where a lot of people have got lucky as they managed to get some real good mean machine hulls at a very good bargain!! A real pity that I missed out this time and from the discussion here, I am sure that I must check out on these “water damaged” stuff when it comes up again!!

i personally love my mean machine. havent finished the build up yet. but its a gorgeous boat and a great deal. im going to build my own hatch out of carbon really soon. whats a good rudder for one of these? i have through hull pick ups annd a speedmaster strut. i dont need one with a water pickup but i guess it doesnt really matter

heres some pics from wheni laid in carbon

mine now has a ul1 motor in it. but debating on running an outrunner i have sitting here.

haha alright, looks like its time to modify the motor mount so the larger screws will fit the slot. then get a new coupler and thrust bearing

swordfish 120 esc or the turnigy 125?

OP, sorry to kinda hijack. guess i need to re open my build thread

I run the Speedmaster rudder with the water pickup. I just called them and they recommended the correct rudder (I did shorten the rudder some). I run a New 1515.1Y at a best GPS speed of 58.5mph, but nornally it runs in the 57s. Not back but wonder if I should have gone with a motor with more torque. It doesn't seem to like anything over an X440-3 prop.

                              I got it wet today!!!
This has been a long wait and a long build but we got it in the water.
Ive been playing with the big gasser as of late.
After a few bad starts and all we reached a nice full run and speeds were at 47.5!!
Happy so far, still more in it.
