    Prop suggestion for Challenger 43?

    Greetings,

Noob here trying to improve performance of a Challenger 43. Any suggestions for a prop? Or other ideas? Boat is pretty slow right now.

    Current Set up:
    Scorpion 5035 500Kv
    Schulze 40.160
    10s LiPo (Two 18.5V 5000mAh 25C Venom batteries)
    X455 prop

I thinks you need more voltage. Get rpm up a bit and that prop should do.

Yes. Rid yourself of the venom cells and bump to 12s or a higher kv motor. You want around 30k rpm. Voltage x kv equals rpm unloaded

Thank you for the replies. So it sounds like the batteries and the motor are the problem, not the prop?

Would a Neu 1415 1y 2200Kv work in this boat? (already have one)

No the Neu would not work too small a motor.

Thanks Brushless. I am going to try a Fegio 580L 1400Kv motor. It sounds like that should be run with 8S. Is that right? Would the 10S be too much for sport boating?

And this may be a dumb question If we stay with the Scorpion 500Kv, could we hook up a 3rd battery? 5S + 5S +4S = 14S. That would get it close to 30K.

              Thanks for helping a noob.

Not sure the feigao would push that boat reliably. Stick with your current motor and run 12s.

Before you scrap your whole setup, you should try a gas boat size prop.

How are temps? Do not change the motor for a 580l. It wont push that big boat. You should run 12s2p on that motor.

Looks like they run real big props? Any recommendation on the size?

Not sure of temps. We need to get the equipment to measure that data.

                        Thanks for your replies.

You will need to be near 70mm dia. Not sure if your motor will spin it. Best to get a few different props and just start to try them. 25C cells are bit weak for this type of setup.
