I want to run 8s on this motor, but need a 5mm shaft size, can ose special order one, or has anyone else used this motor w/5mm?

I assume you are referring to a 1527 1.5y.................here's what it says on the OSE page:

if you don't see the motor wind listed you need with a 5mm shaft, we can special order these motors with 5mm shafts. It takes approx. 3-5 weeks to ship. Contact us for more details.

I think he's talking about the 2217. It can be purchased with a 5mm shaft but why?

There was a time a few years ago when the Octura 8mm flex hexes had excessive runout while the 5mm versions ran true. This is no longer the case, I have several 8mm Flex hexes which run true at 40,000 rpm. Get the motor with the 8mm PTO shaft.
