how to remove a waterjacket

I need to remove a jacket from a 9xl just wondering if there is any hints as i dont want to damage o rings etc. obviously my bare hands aint gonna cut it lol

I usually set the motor in the end of a table with the wires hanging over the edge, then you have the flat end of the motor to push force down against to get the jacket moving. Worst case is you have to order new rings.

Spray WD 40 in the water inlets and outlets and apply to the other motor surfaces.

Squirt a little light oil into the water fittings , turn and roll the motor to distrubite the oil . Rub some oil on the on the exterior nearthe O rings . You can usally push the jacket off. Sometime I use the drill press to get a little more pressure
