You don't need a hv esc to run 4s. That motor is a big time amp hog. Why not run 6s?
Anyhow, with your setup, I'd go with a CC Hydra 240LV

      45 hydro

Rummy is right about not needing an HV for that setup. I run a 4s1p 5000 30c and the 1527 1d but in a rigger. It is a little amp thirsty but never takes out more than 60% with a 5 lap race. My 45" hydro is being changed from a 2215 2y, HV240 and 10s1p. To a 1527 1.5y still with the HV240, and 10s1p 5000 30c. My boat is an old Aeromarine and is heavy. But it was drawingtoo many amps with the 2215. If you plan on doing any racing, I would not go less than 8s and really think about the 1.5y. Unless your setup is super light, you may get away with 6s.

Hi , while this thread is about 45 sized hydro's i'd thought i'd ask my question.

I am also building an hydro 36" long, am going to use a Leopard 5692 1300kv, 6s1p 5000mah 45c lipo and a ETTI Race 150amp ESC , starting about the x445-450 props.
Question is : Will the ETTI ESC hold up?
        Thanks all
        Mick

            get a bigger esc.....

And I also agree with rum... no need for a hv esc... and I too would probably go with a castle hv240.... or if it were me just because I have heard good things about them and with onboard datalogging I would go with the castle pheonix ice 200 :) I am gonna try one on something, just don't know what yet..... and they are reasonable price.

Nova if you want my opinion I will tell you a great setup. I have that same boat and always run a HV controller. Simple reason is the HV can tolerate higher spikes when your getting crazy with the throttle and will survive longer.I was told this by Castle themselves. My setup is .....x645 prop,1527, Castle 240 HV. On 4s Hyperion G3 batteries,4s2p, it will run 69-71 all day. On thunder power 45-90c 5s2p it will run 86-88mph and is a dream to drive. This is a fantastic hull and has lots of room to grow for future "speed".
PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash
              H&M 1/8 Miss Bud 73 mph
              Chris Craft 16 mph

Sorry bud....I do not know. But your rpm will be around 37,000 with out a load so you will have to step up the prop from my x645 a few sizes. My KV is 2,500 with 18.5....21.00 volts charged, batteries. Im turning high rpm at the prop so a small prop is used. My combos are always high rpm but the boats run great and im used to tuneing high rpm setups. Most people WILL NOT agree with it so just use me as a comparison as far as rpm/prop/voltage setups if you would like. Also my boat comes in around 11.8 lbs loaded.
