    OSE NEU Water Jacket Help!

I just received my four OSE Neu motor water jackets. Maybe I'm diong something wrong, or there is a little trick to installing them. I read the instructions, and lubed them up with standard vasoline. The problem is that I just can't get even the first water jacket on the motor. I really used alot of force, but it just did not seem to push past the first O-ring. The first motor I tried was a 1521 1.5D. If anyone has had better success please reply.

It says they are made for the 1515 series of motors. I am not sure if the 1521 series is the same diameter.

I don't think that is an issue, the 1515 and 1521 series NEU motors are both the same diameter according to the spec sheet from both motors which is 1.56. I will try mine on my 1521 and let you know what I find.

ok, Northern boater was correct. Even though the spec sheets say they are the same the 1521 is just a hair bigger, I tried with a dead blow hammer to get the jacket on the 1521 (1.58) with no luck and for my 1515 (1.561) it just slid right on. sucks, now I need a different one for my 1521. Oh well they will work great for my 1515 motors.

We found out the hard way that the 1515, 1521 and 1527 are different sizes even though the Neu site says they are the same. They are not going to fit on the 1521 and 1527. The good news is I'm working on getting the new sizes. I will be swapping them for longer jackets specifically made for the 1521 and 1527 in length. They will be longer, so the cooling will be better for those sizes. I'm very sorry about the confusion. Please return the jackets if you intended on using them for 1521 or 1527 motors. I should have jackets for those in 2-3 weeks. Or if you would like a full refund I can also do that.

Please ship them and your order number or name the order was placed in to

            OS Neu water jacket help

Hey everyone thanks for helping get to the bottom of this problem so quickly. I work at a nuke plant, if only all problems were this quickly resolved.
Thanks Steve for your diligence as well. I do need two of the jackets for 1515 series motors, so I'll only need to return two. They may also be sold at our Wave Blasters of Florida club this weekend. Anyway put me on the list for two 1521 size water jackets, I'll return the other two if I do not have any takers at the lake.
            Thanks again to all,
            Ken

              Steven,

When they are available... I think you already have me down for two of the 1521 sized jackets, but if not, figure on that for me... I'll be needing them...

Yeah, if the 1521 and 27 were beveled at one end like the 09,12 and 15 I think we would be in business, but.........................

                Thanks Steven!!!
