Higher speeds create more damage after crashing !

Just a little heads up here : In my obsessive quest for more speed, I've experienced some crazy "deconstruction" during flips & "splats" :

At the THC the Drifter got airborne pushing 60 mph & landed on its head. Tore a hamburger sized patch of gelcoat off the hatch !

The Titan splatted at Legg & tore EVERY stringer mounted component off ; motor, speed control, batt's, servo !

Yesterday at Legg the Delta cartwheeled at close to sixty & landed backwards & bent the stainless steel trim tab all the way down !!

Word up ! Reinforce everything !! :D [ Of course I'm also discovering that CG & trim helps, but obviously I'm not there yet

Proper, when I was a kid, I jumped out of a boat going 50mph, thinking it was cool to the girls. It felt like someone hit me with a dang sledge hammer. I can understand how it can tear up a thin fiberglass hull at 60 mph. Not sure you can reinforce it enough to withstand that kind of blow to the hull or equipment?

Man, last Nov at the SAW's, the 100 + mph riggers just [I]disintegrated[I] when they blew over. Carnage !! Good thing Mr. Chase had his diving equipment to go down to rescue the remains !

My 25.5" Delta Force has an extra 6oz or so layer of Carbon Fiber matt in the bottom and on the hatch... Darn thing is a brick, but weight is NOT your enemy these days... Plan for it and make'em STRONG...

And... of course... the bigger the boat... the stronger you need to make it (longer spans between stringers, etc... so it needs to have more stiffness...)...
