Thats like a video game right? You don't actually drive or fly with those things on do you? If so thats gotta be one of the most dangerous stupid ideas I've seen in a long time! How would you see what's around you if the camera is not pointing that way?
Might follow you head movements but if you can't see something to turn your head to look at it.........
Those things block out all you vision!
If I saw some clown with those on I'd be bringing my models in and be hiding in my truck until he crashes and it's safe again!
You have to see something to be able to look at it! If you don't know something is coming at you from the side how can you turn you head to follow it?
Scary scary stuff! Wonder when the first lawsuit will be?
Hopefully all the model organizations ban those before somebody gets hurt!
Sure as s**t some idiot will try flying their plane outside while they are on the couch inside!
Sorry to say but based on some of the things you see on the news and internet the general population is not intelligent enough to make a safe decision about when and where to use something like that! If common sense was common everybody would have it!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

FPV has been around for quite a bit of time my friend. Check youtube.

And they usually use a spotter to do FPV, for safety reasons.

Besides: knives are dangerous too if used improperly, do you want to ban them from your kitchen?

He's the MAN! Check out his blog on rcgroups! It's in the description of the video.

The other link I've posted is for AMA FPV code.

It's probably the ONLY way I could fly a RC heli without crashing...
