When figuring center of balance for a cat (for example the skunk works gen 2) how do you measure it? From the ride pads, transom, or the end of the rudder extension. I know 30% is the starting point but where does this begin?
Thanks Scott that is what I wanted to know. I have the twin stingers and rudder mounted and wanted to put the motors at the proper position and adjust with the batteries.
I thought about it ... but folks have done quite a few already. I was thinking I would get it all put together and tested then post some pictures and information if folks wanted.

I'd love to see a build thread for your skunk. I'd appreciate seeing it, actually. Ive got one that's about half built and would love to see other's ideas.
so do you measure it from the tip on the nose to the end of the last ride pad?
Any one have a picture how to measure it?
Yes COG is measured from the back of the ride pad (sponson) the measurement from there to the tip would be your overall. This particular hull, that distance is roughly 28.5". So if your cog is for example 8.5", from the back of the ride pad, your at 30% which is a good starting point.
