    x447/3

I just purchased a x447/3 at my LHS.
I have just finished balancing, and sharpening it.
Does any body know any interesting, and affective mods that will work on this prop?

The ends (tips) closest to the drive dog slot can be rounded off with a nice radious.
As it is now, these ends (so to speak) act like govenors and restrict the speed of the
prop. It will sort of look like an M series prop when you are done.

then there is cupping, pitching, and a few other things that can be done to increase the
    efficiency of the prop.

True but not with this prop, detounge, back cut 1.5mm at hub to 0 at point and just a little tip cup. This totally transforms these props.

I'm not questioning you knowledge on prop mods nor am I a pro at it, but your mod will work with every application? The op didn't give any setup or hull information of what it's intended use will be.

The beauty of x series props is that the are a low lift prop and work good on mono's, hydro's and rigger's that do not need a lot of lift. Or should I say set up to not require a lot of lift. They are good to mod too, sort of like a blank canvas. The mods I suggested are very basic and just make this prop more efficient for our high RPM applications. Once you have it set up right then the pitching up begins. This prop is a very good heat prop due to the acceleration off the turns, there are faster top end props that have the same lift characteristics but that is another story.

Try it as-is.... You might like it! If you do plan on modifiying a prop, I would suggest getting another one. If you booger up the modification, at least you still have aprop to run.

I have a fair bit of experience with modding props.
Just wondering if their was guys out their with real experience with this prop.
                The prop is for a JAE 21, 1515 1 y 2x2s 40c 5000 in series.
Hoping to get some good speed out of it.

I'm considering taking the turnfin off, and just running saw, just to see how fast i can get this boat going in a straight line.
