    Reef Racer 2 Brushless

Alright, finally finished the reef racer 2 brushless conversion project. It's for my little brother, who is seven, and he loved it.

I changed out the coupler for a better one from Kintec, since the stock one split in two. I put the Ammo 2700 motor in it and a 25a ESC. It's running on a 2s LiPo. I've gotta try a 3s LiPo next

Everything worked pretty well expect for the boat taking a couple of dives. I think it needs more weight in the back.

Also, it got a bit difficult to use the remote control since the motor only stops spinning when the trigger is pushed all the way back. I am using the remote control that came with my SV27. Does anyone know how to get it to stop when the trigger is at neutral?

    What ESC?

When you arm the ESC did you let the throttle return to neutral or did you push it all the way back?

Hey, these are the things I'm using...

      Motor:
Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.

      ESC:
Tower Hobbies carries an expansive collection of RC cars, RC airplanes, RC boats, model trains, sot cars, and supplies for all hobbyists.

When I arm the ESC I have to do the following:

      1. Trigger all the way back (1 beep)
      2. Trigger full throttle (1 beep)
      3. Trigger all the way back (4 beeps)

The one beep is the brake setting being off, and the 4 saying it's ready.

Yeah but it should work, shouldn't it? I mean it works fine now, just wanna know if I can get the throttle to be a bit easier.

Not familiar with the airplane ESC's. Maybe that's why you need one of these?

maybe by putting it all the way back it is making the ESC think that that is the neutral point. You could try arming it with the trigger at the neural position and wait for that first beep?

Oh gotcha. I didn't even know airplane ESCs were cheaper or anything. I just needed a 25a ESC. Haha. Thanks for the link!

Nope, nothing happens when I leave it at neutral. Makes sense since it is an airplane ESC and the throttle stick needs to be all the way down. Only give me the beep at all the way back.

I had to do a similar trick with my plane type ESC. The radio system I had had a few more adjustments than my new HK 2.4 GHz system.

I guess I'll have to get that adapter. Although, it's kind of good that it keeps going at neutral, since when it stops it tends to dive for some reason. Probably needs a bit more weight in the back.

Try playing with your throttle trims. Maybe you can turn it all the way back before you arm it. If not, arm it normal then turn your throttle trim back. Worth a try.

I've tried that too, with no luck. I'm just glad it works :) And floats, haha.

I bet it rips too. I would think 3S will make that thing a bullet.
