    flex cable help needed

Hi Guy's I soldered the end of my new flex cable about a 1/4" on the side that goes in the motor cupler...Is this ok?
Also anyone know how tight you tighten up the nut on the motor cupler on the flex cable?

    THANKS

1/4" is good(you did clean the excess solder off...mighty hard to insert the flex if you leave a lump on the side of the cable). if it is a 'standard' octura hex flex you'll need a 1/2" & 7/16" open end wrenches to tighten/loosen the coupler.

Hi yes it's done perfect no lumps at all plumbers trick after you apply solder when still hot use a brush with flux on it and brush the parts you soldered and it becomes smooth as glass...

I am asking how much force do you use to tighten the nut? Alot a little how much is needed I don't know how these things work all though it looks like a dremal chuck..

      THANKS

that is a simple question w/o a simple answer(aside from; tight enough to not slip) doubt anyone has tried putting a torq wrench on one...at a guess something like an 1/8-1/4 turn past finger tight.
