I am very new to lipos, I have a triton charger and a polyquest pq sb 510 balancer. I have just charged for the first time my new 14.8 volt polyrc 20c 3700 lipo pack on my charger and when the charger had finished ( charger beeped and end sign was flashing) i noticed that 2 red lights ( cell 2 and 3) where still flashing on the balancer. I was expecting that when the charger had finished then the green light to say the balancing was complete would pop up pretty well at the same time. Is it normal for the charger to be finished and the balancer saying the lipo pack is still not balanced? Do i keep the balancer on the lipo pack after i disconnect from charger and let pack balance out or not worry about balancing the pack? Any help greatly appreciated.

I have the same balancer and it is not unusual for it to take ten minutes or so to finish balancing. Did you charge through the balancer or the main +,- leads, I like to charge through the power leads and have the balancer conected by itself -
yep, it works as a discharge balancer as well as a charge balancer. I do NOT charge through the balancer if cells are down because the fine wires and higher amps do not mix. I only charge through balancer when cells just need a top up and the amps to do this from the charger are low ie; below 1 amp.Comment
