Brushless Out Runner

Hobby King has these Turnigy T600 B/L outrunner 1400kv (heli) motor at $30.00.
Has anyone thought of trying them on a FE boat, also what size hull would you run it in? It's just a thought, but for a $30.00 motor it could end up being another project. Iam thinking of getting one. They have a 6mm shaft, would have to drill out a 5mm coupler. Some thing to sleep on.

OSE stocks 6mm to 0.187" flex couplers. The size and design of the motor suggest it would work for a smaller sport 6S boat, but motor build quality is the question. Without good water cooling, motors with low efficiencies (like most outrunners) will get hot. If the magnet quality is not so good, then the motor will de-mag and eventually take out your ESC. If I was going to spend the money to build and rig a new boat I'd use a proven motor like the Scorpion. But that's just me.
