Why not use a trex 500 ESP heli with a cord haning a magnet and a magnet under front of hull so you just fire up heli fly over boat the magnets grab and slowy tow in I own both 500 450 trex and couple boats but my boats aren't manoverable for rescue but heli is

I think the below video may give you a reason why it isn't a good idea.

Yeah, I have made two failed attempts at a rescue boat.

First was a zig zag racer. The problems are that 1.) without a steerable outdrive it lacks control. 2.) without reverse it lacks maneuverability. 3.) Latching the dead duck by pulling a string was far from reliable. Total failure.

Having learned all that, I figured I'd just buy a recent product, the Proboat Rescue Duck. What a joke. Ok, it's impeller driven so it wont choke on a line, it has thrust vectoring for control and reverse for maneuverability but it barely floats and barely drives. I think they sub contracted to Fisher-Price or something. Total failure.

Back to the drawing board. I'm going to try the PVC catcher/contraption theory with a shockwave 26 (steerable outdrive, w/ reverse). Any other tips would be appreciated.

Why can't we get the china manufacturers to build a kick but rescue craft in 2 or 3 different sizes brushless power

The rescue boat is one that get to boat in distress in a hurry. I like the idea of hanging a dowel rod out 18" with a small ruber ball and do circles aound boat. Have the dowel rod 5" above boat . The intend boat should have a drapery hook screwed in to top of hull so dowel string can hook on to drapery hook. Now if drapery hook doesn't hook it , maybe the prop or rudder can catch it.
