    What Hydro for 5S 5000mAh?

    Hi
I have some 5S 5000mAh Lipo batterys which I would like to use in a hydro.
    What hull can you recommend?
Not for offical race, but fast.
    Brand?
    Size?
    Setup?

    Thanks
    Philipp

Insane FE30, PT stealth, Whip..... nice high end hydros.... all would be really fast with a 2000kv leopard on 5s 5000mah :)

What is the 'C' rating of the cells in your packs? How much are you willing to spend? How fast is fast to you?

The three boats mentioned are good candidates for you. All are about 30" long, the Whip is a wooden build, the others are fiberglass. The PT needs finishing and paint, the FE-30 hull is ready to mount hardware.

5S is pretty hard on a 2000 Kv motor, that's SAW territory. Unless the OP wants to make two/three passes and then bring it in, he'd be better served with a slightly milder motor. All the above hydros can take props with 3" of pitch, so to go 65 mph (very fast for a 30" hydro) you'd need just 27,000 rpm. A 4-pole motor with a Kv of 1600-1700 should be plenty.

If the OP just wants raw speed, then a 2000 Kv motor will work under the above limitations.

        Hi

Thanks for the recommentation, the FE 30 looks very nice. At the moment I didn't like to build a woody.

@ Fluid: The liops are 30C, is the 2000kV to hot for this packs?

Have someone experience with the hydro from HOR Racing (31")?
