This was one of those great days. My son and I and a friend and his son all ran four 2s Arowana self-righting boats. We had one boat fail (broken shaft), but the other three were run until we ran out of batteries(which takes awhile). My son and I raced together the last run and his driving skills are really getting sharp. We weaved in out while we were going around and his boat was slightly faster on the straights. The crazy thing is he is six. His driving skills with cars and the boats are getting down right scary. chuckle. I guess it helps that he started with cars when he was two.
I do have question though, I was pondering getting a boat that is faster, but still running 2s. Can anyone recommend a rigger or something else that is reasonably stable, but better speeds than the mono's we are racing. I am ok with putting something together, just not sure I am up to building something from wood. Hmmm Maybe I would consider putting a wood one together...
I am amazed how fast a 2s boat can go. We are doing somewhere in the low 30's right now. Why doesn't someone sell an RTR that is 2s that is that fast? When you are buying batteries for two people to run it adds up.
A great day is when you run your boats (two of them) ALL day and nothing breaks. Even after running them ashore and into each other. No damage and nothing but fun!
